LAKE PLATELIAI

The largest and deepest lake in Samogotia (Žemaitija), characterized by natural, cultural and landscape values. Even  the depths of the lake are special: here are detected exceptional geological formations that give valuable information about geological formation of all upland . The lake was first mentioned in Lithuanian metrics the fifteenth century. Its area - 1205 ha, the average depth of -10.5 m, the deepest point - about 50 m.
